4c Short Hair : A Lewk

I have mentioned before that my hair goes through tons and tons of phases. The dense 4c texture is a little too much work for me so I tend to do my best to find alternatives to dealing with it. This time, the solution was an actual full on shave.

I cut my hair shorter than usual at the beginning of the summer, (find post here) shaved the sides as I usually do. I always feel like 4c short hair is a look and especially with the angle that the shaved sides create.  The shorter length made it infinitely more manageable, and I went on to find wigs I could just throw over it. All in all, my hair care was in a good place. As it began to grow out, however, my discomfort started to grow again.

I would slick it down and put wigs over it, or throw a headwrap over it, but the squeamish feeling I got from the heat on my scalp just kept building. Just last night, I caved. I borrowed my friend’s clippers and just shaved it all off.

I was worried initially about how it would look because I think short cuts look better on angular faces, but I don’t think it looks bad? I am so much happier already and it feels so good to feel the wind on my scalp again lol
