Essie has always been one of my favorite nail polish brands as their polishes last the longest without chipping on my nails. They have an incredible color selection, with shades so good they’ve become cult favorites and people can tell what shade you’re wearing just by glancing at your nails. This summer, they released their Sunrush Metals collection in their Gel Couture line, and while these colors were inspired by the golden tones of a summer sunset, I think they also make beautiful shades to wear this festive season. The metallic sheen in each one of them adds a gorgeous dimension and reflect to your nails that’s absolutely eye-catching. Read on for the full collection, how to wear these polishes, and why you’ll be wearing them into the new year.
The shades, from left to right, are Steel the Show (a pinky champagne); What’s Gold is New (a true yellow gold); Sun-Day Style (a coppery bronze); In My Element (a metallic lilac); Sunrush Metal (a golden toned coral); and Sequ-In the Know (a fuchsia with golden reflects)
The Sunrush Metals collection was released as an addition the shades in the Gel Couture line from Essie. The Gel Couture polishes are the Essie two-step polish system that gives you the durability and lustre of a gel manicure without the commitment of an actual gel manicure. You apply two coats of the Gel Couture color, and one coat of the specially formulated top coat in the Gel Couture line. The top coat contains platinum particles which help the shine and durability of your manicure. While they last like a gel manicure, these polishes are super easy to remove– you take them off with regular nail polish remover like you would with a traditional manicure.
I’m wearing the shade Sun-Day Style on my nails. It’s a beautiful bronze color that on me, and anyone with a similar skin tone, works as an amped up nude. I love how it catches the light, and the little gold particles reflect smoothly throughout it. These polishes, because of their metallic lustre, the slight duo chrome quality some of them have, and their durability, are perfect for holiday parties. Steel the Show and What’s Gold is New would be the perfect shades for a New Year’s Eve event; and I’m definitely wearing In My Element on Christmas Day.

Subscribe Here Colourpop Cosmetics started as a Youtube brand- I remember seeing Kathleen Lights review their products and talk about this affordable indie brand, and thinking how beautiful of an aesthetic they had. They started out with the ultra matte lips which were all the rage about two years ago. I bought a few of them, but have since given them up because the Colourpop ultra matte formula can get…

Everyone was scoring shelves for the perfect brown lipstick for their skin tone. I know I definitely bought in, and was also lurking on every makeup site trying to find a good shade for my skin. Brown lipsticks come in a wide variety of shades…
Hello everyone I’ve been feeling so good lately. Why is that something to report? Because a year ago I wasn’t doing so great. I’ve talked about that before so I won’t go into it here. The feeling of perpetual happiness I’ve had this semester is a rediscovery, and I’m working as hard as I can to never let it go. As I type this, I have the new, at…
Hi guys, In an earlier post here I talked a bit about my favorite drugstore foundations for darker skin tones. In today’s post, I will be continuing with my favorite more expensive foundations. Estee Lauder Double Wear I remember I bought this foundation because I read a post on wheredidugetthat and another on TCOH abut it. Both bloggers were raving about how skin like but flawless this foundation was, how…
Photocredit : Me, photographing street style in Milan A few days ago, I had a friend tell me I always look fashionable, even when I’m wearing sweatpants. It’s a really sweet compliment, even if I know it’s only partially true, but thought I would dabble into more how-to blogging and share what I think helps to create that sense of my looking nice- basically my cheat sheet for my personal…
