HOW TO STYLE THE NEON ELEMENT FASHION TREND
Neon green and other electric hues have taken over the fashion landscape lately. The colors might seem intimidating, and like they would way too easily make you look like an 80s TV exercise instructor. In this post, I will be sharing what I have found to be the most wearable ways to incorporate the neon element in your wardrobe without looking like your baby brother’s highlighter.  (or exactly like a highlighter- to each their own)
HOW TO STYLE THE NEON FASHION TREND
I wanted to try this trend by dipping my toes in first, and so I went with a simple cami that pairs well with anything. I put my neon green top together with these washed out wide leg jeans, my beaded bag and white sandals, because I thought the denim would work well to ground the outfit. I have found that wearable neon outfits have an element that is neutral which keeps the outfit easy on the eyes. I also wanted to keep something of an old school feel to the outfit hence the wide leg jeans and fringe bag.
Pairing a neon bottom with a neutral colored top is also a way that I have seen the trend look easy to wear. I especially love outfits with neon midi skirts- pleated neon skirts just seem to work really well- with simple white or black tops. The tops do not need to be basic in design to work. I love how RomeosFashionFix styled her Zara neon pink midi skirt here, with this gorgeous Princess Polly top. The neon element will likely be the star of the outfit, and I think the most wearable styling options keep the neon piece the focus of the look.
For all you braver souls out there, you can easily clash neon pieces too. Whether you put pieces of the same slime green shade together or match hot pink tops with hot pink trousers, or mix a bright orange and fuschia- there are endless ways to clash neon pieces to create outfits that are certainly visually interesting and announce your presence in any room.
I hope these tips help you in figuring out how to style the neon fashion trend. As always, tag me on instagram if you create any of these looks!
