Today’s post is focused on how to wear flare jeans. If at this point you are not sick of my Fashionnova flare jeans, I appreciate you more than I can say. I have featured them in outfits on my Instagram, Twitter, and Youtube, and I am finally introducing them to you guys here on the blog. I am not a huge fan of denim- mainly because I cannot stand skinny jeans- but every denim piece I own has come from Fashion Nova. When I decided I wanted to venture into the new more interesting denim jeans cut that were hitting stores, I instinctively turned to the Fashion Nova jeans selection to find me a pair, and I was blessed with these.
I am a huge fan of dressing up- and I especially love to create outfits that recreate the vibes of different fashion eras. Decade by decade, we find fashion trends focusing on specific themes that are relevant to global society at the time. The 70’s with their carefree but resilient and powerful vibe birthed the flare jeans trend.
In the 21st century, going back to old fashion eras and picking inspiration from them is typical of how we create. Recycling not just our waste but also our ideas, refining them each time and building on top of them is especially typical of how we think and produce now- so the flare jeans with  a twist come as no surprise. I think the beauty of it too is that the vibe of carefree flower child culture is also reincarnated in brining back this glorious denim cut. While they might seem daunting, they are actually really flattering and easy to wear; so here are my pointers on how to wear flare jeans.
HOW TO WEAR FLARE JEANS
The flare jean cut is typically rather wide legged. It’s meant to giving you the shape of a truncated triangle, if you will, so they cinch in your waist and billow out at the bottom. Because of the volume they add to your bottom half, I would wear them with a top that’s close fitting. I think a strappy bodysuit or a tank bodysuit would be an excellent pair with flare jeans, keeping your look clean on the top and party at the bottom.
If you are a braver dresser, or just looking to experiment with your style more, then I think the exaggerated sleeve tops that are so popular now would also look amazing over flare jeans. The volume on the top and bottom would be balanced by the pulled in waist so you would pretty much look like an hourglass. It’s a look I personally would wear as I think it is so forward and interesting.
My last styling idea would be to pair a button down shirt in a classic white or pinstripe over them, with the shirt casually buttoned. I would wear it with a half tuck or with the shirt hanging over to keep the long lines of the jeans and shirt paired together. I think this could add a very cool  and effortless feeling to the outfit.
I hope this how to wear flare jeans post was helpful, and makes you feel more comfortable with the idea of wearing them. Let me know if you do get yourself a pair and how you get on with them!

I love the wide legs of this pair of jeans, but what I love even more is the fact that you paired it with that gorgeous marigold yellow top, which is one of my most favourite colours EVER.

Finding a good flared pant can be hard especially if you’re on the shorter side — you did good! Cute outfit and yes to balancing, slim on top if you’re going wide on the bottom. Great post =)
