No Makeup Makeup Look but with Makeup

No makeup light makeup for spring

I really wanted to be able to call this a no makeup makeup look but 67252 products later, I’m not sure it still qualifies. In my head, I think I’m such a Glossier girl. Like I have perfect bone structure, I have perfect skin, I can throw on a sheer skin tint and pucker up my lips for some 100% organic shea butter lip balm and be out the door. And I guess for the most part, I do wear very little makeup- my life is often a flurry of activities that take me by surprise and all of a sudden I’m in bed again- so I often don’t have the time to put a face on.

On the occasion that I do have the time, however, I tend to have a bit of a drag hand. Forty minutes into putting makeup on, I stop and look at myself attempting to put my lashes on for the twelfth time and wonder how I ended up there.
The saving grace is that through my trial and error and hours of practice, I have picked up some makeup bits that I think are absolutely key in making my cake face look like I woke up like this. Although these will give you a full face, I feel like they give the most natural looking full face possible.

I start out with some kind of primer, right now I’m using a sample size of the Nars pore filling one- it’s low-key magic. It blurs out a multitude of tingz. I really should just buy it instead of going back into the store to get samples, yike. My next step, and this is the key to wearing full coverage but not looking it, is I mix my foundation with an illuminizer. My favorite one right is Mac Strobe cream in the shade Goldlite. I mix that in with my Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation in Rich Mahogany, and literally everything I put on after that looks glowy and soft and natural.

After that, I do the rest of my face- concealer, brows, contour, blush, a little brown eyeshadow, some lipgloss, and usually some natural looking lashes.

When I’m in colder weather, I typically set my face with the Morphe Setting Spray but in warmer weather I don’t find it necessary.
And that’s about it really, my key to keeping a full face looking natural is a good illuminizer or moisturizer that has some glow in it.

As always, sending you love and light,
