On The Rug : Italy and Moving On
Hi guys,
This post will be very picture heavy. I tried several times to write a post about my time in Italy but I found that it really was just impossible to do. Instead, I’m going to post pictures of some the places I went, some of what I ate, and saw and hope that that gives you some kind of a sense of what my Italian experience was.
St Peter’s Basilica
The Colosseum
View from the Corridoio of the Uffizi in Florence.
I said hellur to David. This sculpture is so imposing and so commanding and so detailed and just gorgeous, you just keep looking.
My favourite one though was the Daphne and Apollo by Bernini in Rome. This one is in the Academia in Florence.
We had a day trip to Pisa. Unfortunately I didn’t do the holding up the tower picture. I don’t know why.
The first thing I did when I got to Siena was buy a coffee. And I was not disappointed. This was as delicious as it looks.
My host parent, a lovely woman named Laura is, I’m convinced, the best cook in Tuscany. I couldn’t stop thinking about dinner all throughout the day every day.
This is the university building where I had my classes.
Some of these pictures are mine, some are from my friends who were on the same program.
I was in Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa, Florence, and Rome. It really was a beautiful experience and maybe one day I’ll be able to write about it but I honestly can’t seem to now.
In other news, I’m thinking of changing up how I post on here. I’m feeling like the personal style blog part of this lovely bit of cyberspace isn’t everything it could be. I am a personal style blogger so most of my blog and internet presence should be focusing on that I feel. I really enjoy having other things as well, and I don’t really want to cut anything out. If you have any thoughts on how I could make this more like a style blog while keeping everything else I’d love to know.
I did decide I’ll do an ootd post every day on my tumblr. The link is in my menu bar if you want to follow, so you can see more of my fashion there and then out of the outfits I post every week, I’ll pick one to do a post here about. I’ll post the looks on my tumblr and on my facebook page (feel free to like that as well). I’ll try that out for the month of August and see how it works out.
Thanks to all the people who read, and follow, and get their friends to read. I really appreciate it. My stats have been pretty sweet and I really can’t thank you all enough.
Peace, love, and funk,
Amoafoa.
How did you like Siena? I’m headed to Italy in about a month and still can’t decide if I should go to Siena or Ravenna!
Thanks! I just wasn’t sure what all there was to do there. I’m looking for a more relaxed city!
Siena is a fantastic city and you’ve captured some great shots! Glad you enjoyed your Tuscan trip!!
I cannot get over this trip…the jealousy is real hahaha
