On the Rug || Vitamin C and Sophie

I really  appreciate how that sort of rhymes, sort of.

Most people know Sophie Kinsella for the Shopaholic series, Shopaholic 1,2, Shopaholic and baby shopaholic…you catch my drift. She’s a really good writer and has a great sense of humour, and nails the romcom literature genre- so she’s perfect for a gloomy day such as this one.

I got this book for my long and dreary flight home, and was really glad I did. Funny though, I like all her books except the ones in the Shopaholic series. I’ve read and love Wedding Night, Can you keep a secret?, I’ve got your number, everything. And now ‘Twenties Girl’ is also on the list. It’s about a girl who quits her job after her friend convinces her that they should start a business together. Moral of this part of the story : that person you have good times with at dinners, or in the courtyard, doesn’t always make for a good business partner, or roommate. She encounters the ghost of her great aunt who then helps her find love. I didn’t say it was a mind blowingly original story line, but it’s a really fun read.

Another thing that puts a smile on my face is this little tub of Vitamin C goodness from the body shop. It’s the Vitamin C Glow Boosting moisturizer. It has a light citrus-y scent and is meant for dull dry skin. ? that killed me when the attendant at the body shop suggested it to me. Like, are you trying to tell me something here? But, she said it’s good for dark skin in the summer and it makes your skin glowy from the inside and helps your pores and makes your skin feel new (I know she has to say stuff like that, but still). It’s been pretty good for me.

I use it both during the day and at night and I really like it. I think when it runs out I’ll get their Vitamin E serum to try too, the reviews on that are pretty good.

I’m also really liking purple lipstick. This is a mix of a purple Jordana lip liner and Medusa by NYX.

I tried to pout, I really did.

Have you guys got any Sophie Kinsella or body shop favorites?

Peace, love and funk,

Amoafoa.
