Pink Mini Dress, White Heels and a Basket Bag I Don’t Have Yet

It is incredibly hilarious to be a style/lifestyle blogger who literally doesn’t go anywhere. I have been itching to be able to create and give you guys on here more content but I am struggling because I don’t have a stable photographer, or a daily engagement that requires me to have a #OOTD.

I am working to figure it all out and should be on some kind of a consistent schedule soon, but I do apologize for the sporadic nature of my updates here.

I was reading a blog post the other day by The Little Plum (she’s so funny) where she was talking about how we need to stop treating blogging like it’s not a business/viable career path for young women especially, and I could not agree more. I literally cannot count how many times I’ve heard, ‘don’t go into blogging for the money’ or ‘I was blogging for years and never made a cent’ or some version of those statements. They all seem to aim to shame people who recognize the ability of influencer marketing to generate a steady income and want to tap into it. In my opinion, you really couldn’t talk about it in a worse way.

Blogging is a job; it takes an incredible amount of time, dedication, and monetary investment to have a site and keep it fresh with content. Why on earth should anyone be ashamed to earn from something they put so much work into? You don’t need to absolutely love blogging to get into it either. If you take good photos, are a good writer, and provide value for your audience, that sounds like you’re doing the job to me. While I do think it’s much easier to grow as a blogger when you want to be doing it, because like I said it does take some dedication, that doesn’t mean that you can’t do it if you don’t absolutely live and breathe blogging.

I feel like the ability to generate an income in the comfort of your favorite couch in your home, or right from under your covers, is an incredibly freeing prospect for gazillions of young women out there and we need to celebrate that and encourage more people to take up space on the internet. I mean this especially for black, African women – there’s so few in the industry. Given the giant influencer budgets that brands are developing, there’s certainly enough moola to go around, so grab you a seat at the table sis.

Anyway, I’m done with that little bit of a ramble. Be sure to check out my Youtube Channel, and Follow Me on Instagram too.

I’ll let you know if I do end up actually getting a basket bag, I’m sure Instagram will be absolutely sick of it when I do.

As always, sending you love and light,

Amoafoa
