What I Wear : Sunny Zara

It’s the summer????? and my legs just want to feel the sun again. All the layers we have to pack on in the fall, winter and spring can just fall away now.

My legs may not be the skinniest, shapeliest or longest (I’d really wanted to have an alliteration there) but they love the sun the most.

I’m wearing a basic off white top from F21, (they and h&m had all their basics on sale) and a burgundy  skirt I got from Número Uno. Numero Uno is basically a Zara store in Accra, and there’s always a sale happening. I got this one for 10 cedis which is about 2.5 dollars now. The store is on I think the second floor of Marina Mall. The thing with Numero Uno though is that it’s for a pretty specific taste, and sometimes you have to really look to find anything.

As I was drafting this post I realized how many of my clothes I got off Sales. Pretty much everything I own that I got here I didn’t buy full price, and that’s from shoes to maxi dresses. It’s a pretty easy way to save money. Sites like Wet Seal and Sheinside have the most ridiculous clearance sales; you can get a cropped  sweater for 2 dollars off Wet Seal. 2 dollars. It’s just like, why thank you.

I went on a bit of a basics binge because they were on sale, and while plain tees are great, I do feel like their potential is under explored. It’s really simple to turn a simple tee into something more stylish. Just knot it to the side or in front, or tuck it in the side or in the front. I swear this will give you so many ways to wear a basic tshirt, just jump right into the knots  and tucks pool.

I knotted this one to the side because I didn’t like how it looked tucked in. The cardigan is also F21, and the bag is H&M. I’m just really liking how that pink/beige colour looks against my skin.

The skirt is pretty short so it’s not an everyday kind of look, at least not for me. What I do like about it though is that it helps me feel good about my legs. I mean it’s hard to not love them with the wind blowing over them and the sun kissing them. That’s the cheesiest thing I could have said, and I said it. It’s also a really nice colour and is probably what started my thing with anything burgundy…
