TGIF : A bit of a mixtape 

 

Amy Winehouse is one my favourite voices. The sense of true pain and eternal melancholy in her voice is both heartbreaking and captivating. This is definitely one of my most played songs. 

The Back to Black album as a whole is a true work of art.

 

Just A Band is a Kenyan house/funk band that I found out about rather recently. This song is so good. It’s got such a feel good quality to it but also makes you want to think…it’s the best of chill and not chill music worlds combined. That makes no sense but listen to it and you will understand. and this album also I would 10 out of 10 recommend.
   

Lianne La Havas, ohhhh where to start. I don’t even remember how I stumbled across her music but I am oh so so glad I did. I love every single one of her songs including one she let out recently called What you don’t do. 

This is my most played song on the album,  and it’s just..mm so good .

  

I’ve mentioned before that I love Wizkid, and I like this song particularly because it’s like a classed up Wizkid. It’s still his very signature azonto beat but just more mature, Femi on it definitely helps to elevate this song. 

It’s a great happy day song. Just great.

  

I have Loved this band since junior high. Ohhhhmygod. They had this hit song called Breakeven that would just catch me in my heart. You know when a song does that? I love love them. On my list of top 100 songs, they definitely feature prominently. They’re an Irish band and I think my favourite song by them is actually Man on a Wire, but it’s so impossible to pick. I also really like This is Love, For the First Time… It has been my dream for a while to go to a concert of theirs.

This song is, like all their other songs, everything .

   

And finally, boy did I save the best for last. If you have not listened to Stromae, you.have.not.lived. 

It doesn’t matter if you speak French or nah, you need this man right here in your life. What is creative genius? This. The Racine Carrée album, it is life. I can’t even actually make sentences when I try to talk about him. You just need to experience him. Lol I sound mental right now but. I am only being real. If nothing else, listen to this album,

And Lianne La Havas’. 

I love this song because the message is so relevant. All his songs are, and he is quite frankly the most visually creative artist I have come across. The Tous Les Memes and Carmen videos will give you a fair idea what I mean.
