TGIF: Siena!

Hey hey! So, in my last post I mentioned that I’ve got pretty exciting news, and tadum tadaa, I’m in Siena, Italy.

It’s the most beautiful Tuscan town located sort of between Pisa and Florence but not really. It’s close to San Gimignano as well which I’ve just been to.

What’s an expat mannequin without some expat-ing, eh? I’ve been here almost a week now. I wasn’t able to post on Monday because of travel and unpacking and all of that. I might have to skip one post some weeks while I’m here but I’ll do my best not to.
Siena is so beautiful. Pictures can’t do it justice. I’m very new to it so I’m still trying to feel it out. I’ve been walking around eating gelato, listening to Stromae, and feeling like a traitor for listening to French rap in Italy. But, Stromae’s Moules Frites is sooo good.
It’s such a laid back town, it makes everything feel chill. I’m really enjoying how relaxing it is.
I love the shops here! I’ve given myself a strict budget though, I can’t afford to get seduced by how shiny everything is, and shiny it is.
The food is incredible! I’m living with two friends in this gracious woman’s house, and she cooks like a dream. I’m still going to end up more fit than I have ever been because Siena is majorly hilly and we have to walk for a half hour to get to the university from her house. I’m here for school btw.
So far, I adore this place. I’ll keep you updated on how things are going with it.

I think a good thing to do when you go somewhere is have some kind of a goal for it. Siena, for instance , has incredible views everywhere. Walking up the street you can stumble over the most breathtaking view of countryside you will ever see. It’s the perfect place to just take things slow and think over life and who you are and what you want. I’m gonna find nice open spaces, and just think and be while listening to Lianne la Havas.

I can’t wait to update you on the places we see and everything I learn here. I will do that when I get back to America, just a really long post about everything I’ve eaten and seen, and bought. Did I mention how I love the shops here?

Peace, love, and funk,
Amoafoa.

Feel free to follow on Instagram for more pictures of it!
