When it comes to clothes, I use the word ‘need’ very cautiously as I do recognize most of my fashion purchases are an indulgence, but you one hundred percent need this off shoulder top.
If you are a long time reader of my blog, you might remember this post where I talked about finally settling into my personal style and understanding my love for clean lines and good tailoring. In that post, I mentioned how I had found myself the most perfect pair of trousers and how they had changed how I thought about fit and comfort in my clothes. Before that purchase, I had felt as though in order to be stylish I had to be layering a bunch of different things or wearing tight fitting clothes, or forever chasing some avant garde standard I wasn’t even sure I liked. This was a time before minimalism became the fashion wave, so when I found the Mango store on Corso Buenos Aires in Milan, it was like a dream and a godsend. The clean aesthetic and the simple elegance of their clothes drew me in instantly, and it has since blessed me with many gems, top of which is this red striped off shoulder top.
This top is the most flattering and stunning (while at an affordable price point) off shoulder top I have seen since the trend took full force about two years ago. When I first saw it on the Mango website about a year ago, I knew it would be beautiful in person but I reined in my excitement and waited for it to go on sale before I finally purchased it this year. The top is designed to flatter any body shape as the sweetheart neckline adds a beautiful feminine touch, and the sleeves are sewn separately from the neck so you can move your arms without restriction.
If you have ever wondered how to keep your off shoulder top from falling off, well this top solves that too with the tie detail that you can adjust in the front, and a band across the neckline that holds it to your body. It is very thoughtfully made, that translates in how it makes you feel when you wear it.
