Top Five Colors to Wear This Summer
Over time, I have really grown to love fall and winter, and the more muted tones that we tend to fall back on during the colder months. However, ’tis the summer and this season we wear bright, bold color. If you’re in Accra and the cloudy rainy season has you feeling a little more sluggish and slow, then try these bold hues to give your mood a pick me up. This post, I’m talking about the top five colors to wear this summer to enhance your skin and make you stand out at all your parties and events.
- YELLOW
Yellow is one of my personal favorite colors for all year round. The color is bright and vibrant and instantly makes you smile. I love how throwing on a yellow dress or top, or even trousers, immediately makes me feel like a happier lighter person. I’ve raved about how much I love the color on this post here, and done an affordable edit too that you can check out. I don’t think you can go wrong with this color for the summer and it looks stunning on dark/tan skin too!
2. RED
Red is likely my second favorite color of all time, as it also makes me feel absolutely vibrant and like I can take on the world. It’s definitely one of the boldest colors to pull of, but it creates outfits that are simply stunning. You can check out my edit below to see if you find any pieces you want to dip your toes in.
3. blue
Blue, especially cobalt blue, is such a stunning but surprisingly underrated color for the summer. Blue especially in a jewel tone shade is perfect for capturing and reflecting light and so works really well to enhance your skin.
4. PURPLE
Pantone named Ultaviolet aka purple the color of the year for 2018, but the color doesn’t seem to have taken off quite the way trend colors usually do. I think because it typically comes in the lighter lavender and lilac shades a lot of people are a bit initimidated by it, but the color can actually be really beautiful for summer. I think rich purple summer dresses are a gorgeous wardrobe staple so check out this edit for my picks.
5. orange
Orange, like yellow, is a perfect summer color with its fiery red undertones. It makes a great neutral color also when it’s more pastel. You can style it with trousers, treating it as a more neutral shade or in a mini dress to really get the punch of color.
