My Top Foundations for Dark Skin (High End)

Hi guys,

In an earlier post here I talked a bit about my favorite drugstore foundations for darker skin tones.

In today’s post, I will be continuing with my favorite more expensive foundations.

  1. Estee Lauder Double Wear

I remember I bought this foundation because I read a post on wheredidugetthat and another on TCOH abut it. Both bloggers were raving about how skin like but flawless this foundation was, how long it wears and so on. I was very intrigued- saved up a bit and eventually bought it, and I have no regrets. This foundation is beautiful. It is very high coverage so I use the tiniest bit with a beauty blender so it sheers out a little. Even with that care, it covers all my dark spots and just makes me look like a doll.

The shade range is really good, and I use Rich Mahogany, which initially looks like it’d be too light for me but somehow just works. Something about it allows  that even though it is really pigmented, it still allows your skin to show through. It wears very well, only looking more natural as the day goes on. If you have oily skin, it won’t start to break apart or get greasy- it’s definitely a win.

This is the foundation I was wearing in my Get To Know Me Video where a lot of you commented on how good my skin looked.

And, if you buy it on their website you can get a discount if you sign up for the newsletter.

    2. Lancome Teint Idole 24H Ultra Longwear Foundation

This Lancome foundation is kind of the OG of high end foundations that cater to dark skin. I ended up buying it because one of my friends has it and wears it practically everyday and her skin always looks amazing.

I love the way this feels on my skin- it’s very velvety, very luxurious, and I love the shade range. I’m in the shade 555 suede C. I would advise to use this foundation with a beauty blender over a brush, because every time I have used it with a brush it has settled into my smile lines and just was not cute.

It looks much more skin like than the Estee Lauder, and on my skin is not incredibly long wearing- because it isn’t too matte. However, it is beautiful and I would definitely recommend trying it out in store to see how you like it before buying it.

   3. Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation

I don’t own this one, but I used to have a sample of it and it is everything. This foundation is so flawless, so airbrushed, so soft, so beautiful-  there are no words. It almost looks natural, but in the way that magazine photographs look natural. It’s beautiful, long wearing and has a really good shade range as well. I am in the shade Y535 Chestnut, and y’all this one is so good.

4. Kat Von D Lock it Tattoo Foundation

I got this pretty recently and I love it! It’s very high coverage so a little goes a long way. It photographs very skin-like and wears well on oily skin. I have the darkest shade for my summer shade and I would really recommend this one too. You can find it here http://www.katvondbeauty.com/complexion/foundation/lock-it-foundation/20005.html?dwvar_20005_color=2047#start=1

I hope this list was helpful to you, and let me know in the comments if you have any of these or want to try any of these. I would love to know!
