Trend Accessories for 2019 That Will Last in Your Wardrobe
Each fashion season, runways are graced with gorgeous fabrics and intricate designs that influence what we wear throughout the year. As designers walk their main creations down the aisles for the fashion world to marvel, they accompany their pieces with key accessories that in turn also become staples of our clothing collections for that year. This year, we’ve seen bucket hats, baguette bags, silk scarves and more reign in the field of trend accessories. Given the sheer enormity of the selection of accessories we’ve been reintroduced to this year, I thought to pick out three of my absolute favorite ones and share them with you. These top three trend accessories are the ones I think will have the most longevity over the next few seasons and which I find the easiest to incorporate into an existing wardrobe.
TOP THREE TREND ACCESSORIES FOR 2019
- Dillard’s Double Ball Pearl Earrings
- Forever 21 Pearl Stud Earrings
- Free People Stone Charm Earrings
- Asos Abstract Pearl Earrings
- Topshop Asymmetric Textured Pearl Earrings
My first pick of the top three trend accessories that will last in your closet are pearl earrings. These were very popular for the spring and summer shows– pearl generally is having a huge moment– and I think they will continue into Autumn/Winter and beyond. Pearl earrings add a touch of elegance to any outfit and can be very useful pieces to elevate more casual looks, or to finish a nighttime look for a more dressy occasion. There are no wrong ways to do this trend, and I love that it reminds me of the feeling of wearing my mother’s jewelry as a way to explore style and learn what accessories I thought defined my take on fashion. I love a simple pearl stud, but I have also chosen some updated takes on the classic piece that you can select from. I especially love the Textured Asymmetric piece from Topshop and the Asos Abstract take on the trend.
The second piece on my edit of trend accessories that will last beyond this year is the tassel bag. Tassels on bags is not new to this season; but the pieces that are available now are definitely a different take on the tassel bags we’ve seen before. The Cult Gaia Angelou tote bag sparked a revolution in the way I thought of tassels and I was excited to find I was not alone in loving the re interpretation of the style. I find these new tassel bags very easy to wear and also appreciate the movement and interest they give what is often the most structured and pedestrian piece of an outfit.
- Cult Gaia Green Angelou Tote
- Charles and Keith Black Tassel Tote
- Charles and Keith Tassel Drawstring Bag
- Charles and Keith Tassel Wallet
- Mozh Mozh Tassel Crochet Bag c/o Need Supply
- JC Penny White V Cut Slingback Heel
- Urban Outfitters Sofia Knotted Kitten Heel
- Charles and Keith Buckle Kitten Heel Mules
- Kate Spade Savvi Patent Leather Kitten Mules
- Phillip Lim Agatha Croc Kitten-Heel Mule
Kitten heels seemed a bit marmite when they first became popular last year, but they have successfully infiltrated the fashion world and continue to be a favored trend accessory across runways this year. I find that they are incredibly comfortable and allow people who love heels but don’t exactly want to commit to a stiletto to find a happy medium. I love the heel style with V cut slingback shoes, with 90s inspired strappy sandals, with more vintage inspired knotted mules, with early 2000s single strap mules– I don’t think I’ve seen a kitten heel I didn’t love. Because they are so wearable for everyday, I also find that they more easily become a staple of my everyday wardrobe than some of my other heel selections, and I absolutely see myself wearing them for years to come.
I hope you enjoyed reading my edit of the top three trend accessories for 2019 that will actually last in your closet for years and years. I find that taking the time to consider what will have longevity in my wardrobe helps me make purchasing decisions I’m happy with for longer. Thank you for stopping by, and leave me a comment on which trend item you love and are definitely getting.
Love,
Amoafoa.
