What I Wear : Probably For Lovers

Just A Band || Probably For Lovers

^bestest song ever? Yeah.

Going off the bright pink I was wearing in my last post, I thought a skirt outfit would be appropriate.

I don’t own many skirts, and the history and evolution of my closet is quite a story. When I was younger, and by younger I mean up until university, the composition of my closet was hand me downs from my cousin Edna, my brothers’ shorts, baggy jeans, and promotional t shirts. I had a Nido shirt, Cowbell shirt, Indomie Shirt, Vodafone shirt, Ghana@50 shirt, World Cup shirt… My dresses were taken from my mum’s wardrobe; the clothes I had for myself were bought in Melcom, or this place with five Ghana jeans in Madina, a few from Zara when they had 10ghana sales on their clothes.

In Junior High (I will always call it JSS tho) I couldn’t go out to get togethers or any things like that because first my mother was really not about that life, and I legitimately had nothing to wear out.

I have come from very very far. Like my favourite YouTuber Patricia Bright puts it, the Glow Up has been real ??

When I was in my first year of law school in Ghana (I did a year before leaving) my mum and I went shopping, we dragged my cousin Dapaah along. ?? I love Dapaah. Anyhow, I needed a white dress for confirmation, and we got that. But also, we got this skirt. It’s a two piece actually but I’ve never worn it with the top. Maybe I will soon, chissà. With a touch of red lipstick if I’m feeling fly *pretends to whip rigid Afro*

(I need to accept the fact that I was not born to pout)

I really like the print and I like the length of it. It’s actually midi length but I rolled it up here. I also like two pieces because you get a top, and skirt, and a full outfit. I love multi purpose clothing. Like the top here, is the romper I wore as shorts in the basic college kid post. Isn’t that just wonderful ?

It’s really cute, and depending on which shoes you wear this with it can be a nice girls out thing to wear or you can class it up and you know do your hair nice and be fancy.
I’m trying to develop a sense of style, it’s been a long time coming. I hope I grow into something that represents me, every weird awkward skeptical speck of me. Lol

Peace, love , and funk,

Amoafoa.

Romper – HM

Skirt – okay, there’s a shop on the east Legon Road that leads into the left you take to get under the Spintex Bridge. It’s down the road, like you’re trying to get to AnC. There are a bunch of beads shops and vases shops on the way, and I think someone sells linen shirts opposite it. Lol gosh I’m Ghanaian.
