White Top, Red Lips, and the Perfect Shade of Blue Denim

So, there are a few things I talk about way too much on my channels- how much I love white tops and how much I love Zara being top of that list. This post combines both of those things and my third favorite- red lipstick. I think in self styling, most of us subconsciously come up with some kind of a uniform. We develop a sense of what we feel the most comfortable and confident in, and gravitate towards a similar scheme of outfits because they help us retain those feelings.

Mine is undoubtedly a white top and trousers combination. I usually don’t like jeans, but I have mentioned before that wide leg jeans and mom jeans are a weakness of mine, so here I’m wearing my fave Zara mom jeans but belted so I can retain some sense of a figure. I think there’s something truly classic about the freshness a white top adds (top here is actually this dress just tucked in) and this particular shade of blue is to me, the literal perfect shade of blue denim. The jeans are also quite stiff in that they don’t have any stretch in them, but they definitely mould to your body over time. I love that, because it feels like they learn your body as you wear them.

Over time as well, I have really grown to love red lipstick. I would love to get to the point where red is my nude but right now I’m loving the Fenty Gloss bomb too much for that. This red lip was the first one I ever bought- the holy grail of red lipsticks- Ruby Woo by Mac. I love how universally flattering it is, and how bright it makes my teeth look. I am always smiling or laughing so that is definitely a plus in my books. I completed the outfit with these Forever 21 slides I got for $5 on sale and have worn practically every day since then. This outfit formula is my go-to, and I am currently even on the hunt for more white tops to add to my wardrobe- they are just such an essential.
